I went to visit mom again. As many of you know I often come home from Mom’s house with a really cool item and, in many cases, an even cooler story to go with it. This little bell was from a old one-room schoolhouse. The teacher used to ring this bell to let kids know it was time to come in from recess. My uncle, in his elementary-school-aged wisdom decided with no bell recess would never end so he “acquired” the bell. I miss you Uncle Bunt. I think the theft deterrent system on these vintage cash registers was just to make them so heavy no one could steal them. This one weighs around 200 pounds. It took some searching to find a table which would not only hold the cash register, but also fit with the look. This lovely cabinet from @rileysfurniture is perfect.
