    Baseball Field Birthday Cake

Hi Everyone.  I hope you have as much fun making this baseball field birthday cake.  But even more fun than making the cake was watching the boys from my son’s baseball team choose which candle on the cake represented them.  I placed the candles as close as possible to the field positions, with an extra candle for the batter and a runner at second to get 11 candles. Werewolf Cupcakes

How cute are these Werewolf cupcakes?  They are the prefect spooky touch for your Halloween party.  When the kids find out that they require extra frosting, they will come back for more! When creating these cupcakes, I tried to use as little black and red icing as possible as these two color require so much tint that the flavor of the frosting can be effected. Buttercream is the perfect frosting for these cupcakes are it is delicious and easy to work with.  You can find two different buttercream recipes here.  I have recently begun using Color System by clicking the link

    Buttercream Frosting Recipe

Buttercream frosting is a great choice as it is delicious and easy to work with.  I typically use one of two modified versions of the Wilton Buttercream Icing. Option 1 This version is more stable and can be used when the frosting or the final product will remain unrefrigerated for longer.  It’s a great choice for a kids party or a school event.  This version produces a true white frosting. 1 tsp Wilton clear vanilla extract 1 tsp Wilton no color butter flavor 1 cup solid vegetable Shortening (crisco) {the freshness of the shortening effects the taste!!} 1 TBSP Wilton Meringue Powder 1 lb shifted confectioners sugar a pinch of…

Cutest Baseball themed Birthday Party Snacks

Love. Love. Love. This playhouse turned concession stand.  What could be more perfect at a sports themed party??  For the concession stand I stapled twine between the posts and we hung a variety of chips from the twine using clothes pins.  Between the posts we placed a tablecloth covered table and had containers of popcorn and nachos and cheese available.  Under the table we stashed a bin of chips and we quickly replenished the supply whenever it ran low.  The Gum —> What better way to display bubble gum than by using a baseball glove as a serving dish??  I used his glove from t-ball for the occasion.  And to…
